Description: University of Genoa includes the MS Clinic where around 1800 MS patients are currently followed and treated, the Neuroimmunology Unit, composed of research laboratories and an fully equipped animal facility and the Magnetic Resonance Research Center composed with a 1.5 T GE magnet and with access to a 3.0 T Siemens magnet.The main research areas of the centers are: neuroimmunology, adult hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells, clinical research, neuroimaging and neuropsychology. The center is involved in several industry-sponsored and academic clinical trials at the national and international level.The center established strong partnership with pharmaceutical industries to study the mechanisms of activity of new drugs under development. The center has strong scientific collaborators with many academic national and international Institutions.The center is financially supported by institutional funds, national and international research grants from public and private Institutions.
